The World

The World, designed to represent the world map, involves the creation of over 300 man-made islands. The islands are built in the shape of the world map, with each island representing a country. Four protective breakwaters are laid out on the outer perimeters of The World islands to provide shelter from long and cross-shore waves.

Access to all the islands are only via marine or air transport (helicopters), with world-class marinas to berth boats, yachts and cruise liners. Two mainland marinas will service The World while four hub islands within the project will service the islands. Two main ports (fishing ports of Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah) will serve these 4 hub islands where boats, yachts and cruising ships can anchor.

On the world there will be small exclusive resorts with limited number of villas and apartments like The Jasmine Gardens project in Thailand.
